About Us

KINYA LERRK (Wemba Wemba for ‘women coming together’) is the collaboration of Aboriginal visual artists Emma Bamblett (Wemba Wemba, Gunditjmara, Ngadjonji and Taungurung) and Megan Van Den Berg (Dja Dja Wurrung, Yorta Yorta and Boon Wurrung) who have a strong history of collaboration on design/arts based projects.

Possum Skin Workshops
Through this immersive cultural experience Aboriginal artist Emma Bamblett who is a descendant of the Wemba Wemba, Gunditjmara, Ngandonji and Taungurung Tribes will take you on a the journey of understanding the cultural significance of the possum skin and the use of markings. Each participant takes home their own possum skin art piece.

Emu Egg Carving Workshops
Through this immersive cultural experience Aboriginal artist Emma Bamblett who is a descendant of the Wemba Wemba, Gunditjmara, Ngandonji and Taungurung Tribes will take you on a the journey of understanding the cultural significance of the Emu Egg and the use of markings. Each participant takes home their own Emu Egg art piece.

Weaving Workshops
Through this immersive cultural experience Aboriginal artist Emma Bamblett who is a descendant of the Wemba Wemba, Gunditjmara, Ngandonji and Taungurung Tribes will take you on a the journey of understanding the cultural significance of the weaving and taking you through the method of weaving using raffia. Each participant takes home their own woven piece.

Bunjil Art Workshop
Through this immersive cultural experience Aboriginal artist Emma Bamblett who is a descendant of the Wemba Wemba, Gunditjmara, Ngandonji and Taungurung Tribes will take you on a the journey of understanding the cultural significance of the Bunjil and creating your own art piece. Each participant takes home their own canvas art piece.
