April is a Gunditjmara Kirrae- Whurrong and Djap Wurrung woman and a proud mother of 3 children and 3 grandchildren. She has extensive experience working in Aboriginal Affairs across a wide range of sectors including Education, Justice, Children's services, and Health. April has spent her whole working life creating and building programs that deliver change, promote healing, and provide opportunities for Aboriginal people to improve their life circumstances and their social and emotional wellbeing. With over 20 years' experience in Aboriginal Education, April is passionate about the promotion and delivery of Koorie perspectives in all Education sectors across the Victorian State. She believes that creating resources for children in their younger years, will ensure an early start in the sharing of Koorie perspectives and knowledge, which enrich all of society. Brett Cardwell from Cardytoons is a Melbourne based Cartoonist and Animator who is passionate about storytelling and has provided schoolworkshops around Australia and beyond for over 25 years.
